A large part of our journey is to heal.
Healing occurs in the body, and when we do, we become connected and centred, thus becoming one, not just with ourselves, but with the universe.
Jade is a Therapist and Coach who specialises in working with Men and Youth.
Jade weaves his personal healing journey, professional life experiences and academic studies into an integrated approach. Drawing on several modalities, Jade uses compassionate inquiry, counselling, somatic therapy and internal exercises to bring the client deeper into an inner-self experience.
“A large part of why we are here on planet Earth, both as individuals and as a collective, is to heal. Yes, heal.
We all carry some form of baggage. Some heavy, some light – but we all carry it. And it’s important to recognise that it’s no one’s fault. To move forward, live the life we truly desire, and grow into the person we were meant to be, we must heal the pain stored within.
I am often asked how I got to where I am, having experienced so much trauma as a child. My answer is always the same: “It was my ability to break the cycle.” As with anything worth doing, it merely takes work.
In my opinion, and what my healing journey has taught me since I was 13 years old, the age I was forced to leave home due to a dysfunctional home life, is that healing is multi-layered. I liken it to peeling back the layers of an onion. At times, the juice seeps into the skin, finding its way into any cuts we have. Then our eyes begin to water, and we start to struggle to see. Each layer starts to become a little harder to remove, and at times, we want to give up. But what we discover is that layer by layer, we eventually reach the core.
Healing is no different. It can present uncomfortable moments. Bring up emotions, sensations, and feelings that make us somewhat queasy on the inside, while bringing to the surface the baggage we have locked away in the closet that has collected dust since childhood. But here’s the thing, and I’m talking from experience – what’s on the other side is life-changing! It’s almost impossible to describe in words, but it’s a feeling of pure joy that radiates from the inside out. A feeling that I hope we all truly experience when we have arrived, ready to do the work.
Previously, Jade spent time working as a support worker at TassieCare. He was also a custodial youth worker at Ashley Detention Centre before moving across to the state’s Back on Track Program in the northwest of Tasmania and finally, operating his own support business as a mentor and coach.”

That said, my Somatic Therapy sessions offer a compassionate approach to safely enquire and explore whatever is occurring in the body, including past and present pain, tension, emotions, feelings, and sensations.
Somatic Therapy sessions are extremely helpful for men and teenagers experiencing mental health issues, stress, trauma, tension, anxiety, depression, anger, bullying, relationship issues or bodily discomfort or ongoing symptoms.
MINDSET COACHING
I work with the mindset of individuals and groups in an entirely different manner than most. That said, I work closely with the meaning and power of words. Tuning into ‘what we tell ourselves’ and the ‘tone’ behind our words that ultimately hinders our ability to perform. It is not just on the field, the court, the mat, in the ring, but in our day-to-day lives where the mind often gets the better of us.
What most neglect and fail to miss is that everything goes down in the mind, but before the mind, everything goes down in the body! The imprints of our childhood play a significant part in the continual voice that goes on in our heads. Often, it is the residue from our childhood – that we had or didn’t have – that stands in our way, affecting our behaviours, actions, patterns, thoughts, feelings and sensations, and of course, our mind!
Mindset Coaching sessions are available to men and youth from all walks of life, including professional sportspeople and musicians, organisations and businesses and individuals who are seeking a different perspective on the mind and the effect it has in all forms of our lives.
